Mr. Festus Keyamo, former minister of state for labour and productivity, has attacked supporters of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last election, Peter Obi, over social media trolls targeting President Bola Tinubu.
According to reports, a segment of Nigerians who oppose Tinubu’s victory have resorted to social media since Friday to criticise the president for his decision to give N8,000 to 12 million homes in order to soften the impact of the removal of gasoline subsidies.
In response to some of the social media insults, Keyamo complained in a tweet on Saturday that anti-Tinubu elements “are still lurking online with all kinds of negative expectations.” According to the former minister, it is pointless to take offence from trolling since “they will eventually get sense by force.”
Festus Keyamo tweeted his verified Twitter handle: He wrote, “They have virtually created an alternate world for themselves, far removed from reality, locked themselves in their own bubble and just bandy all kinds of inanities around and amongst themselves to make themselves happy. Please, mark some of them with their comments below. “Rather than get angry, we should feel deep pity for them. They will eventually get sense by force”.
