Godsgift Uweghwerhen, 25, of Aladja Community, Udu Local Government Area, Delta State, has been detained on suspicion of fatally beating his three-year-old daughter.
Information gathered by Biztellers reveals that, Uweghwerhen noticed his daughter leaving the room of one of his neighbors while he was at home with his family and neighbors.
Uweghwerhen reportedly attacked his daughter after becoming enraged by her behavior and beat her with a cane, causing injuries to her body.
However, the victim’s father’s luck ran out when vigilantes detained him at the Ubogo community and turned him over to police officers in the Ovwian/Aladja Division.
The incident was confirmed by Delta state police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, in a text message on Thursday after being contacted.
