With the campaign for the 2023 general election in Nigeria set to kick-off in the next few days, the flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar while addressing PDP stakeholders in Enugu on Tuesday made it known that he is the stepping stone any Igbo politician from the South Eastern part of the country can use to become the next President of Nigeria.

Atiku Abubakar who noted that he have three Igbo children said he has close relationship with the Igbos, and that was why he picked an Igbo running mate, Senator Ben Obi, and Peter Gregory Obi as his running mate some years ago.

This particular statement made by Atiku Abubakar has attracted a lot of attention as many Nigerians, including the founder of the Bring Back Our Girls movement, Aisha Yesufu, took to the social media platform to react.

While sharing on her official Twitter page, the outspoken activist, Aisha Yesufu noted that Atiku Abubakar’s statement is an insult to the Igbos.

According to Aisha Yesufu, she said, “Atiku insinuating that the Igbos can only get a shot at the presidency after his tenure is an insult”.
