LP Faction: Lamidi Apampa is the only individual who has been elected as the Party's chairman – Bishop Reuben Favour,

According to Bishop Reuben Favour, who is the acting national organizing secretary of the Labour Party, the true faction of the party is the one led by Alhaji Lamidi Apapa. He made this declaration during the inauguration of the party’s 24-member State Caretaker Committee in Lagos.

During the same event, Bishop Favour expanded on his perspective. He clarified that neither the Igbo community nor Nollywood actors are part of the Labour Party. He emphasized that Lamidi Apapa stands as the sole individual who has been legitimately chosen as the party’s chairman.

As reported by Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, August 12, 2023, Bishop Favour voiced, “We are a national party with a broad foundation; we’re not limited to the Igbo community. Nollywood celebrities should refrain from affiliating with the Labour Party. The true essence of our party is reflected in our current makeup. Numerous supportive groups are in our midst. Alhaji Apapa, the sole chairman elected, was not simply nominated.”

In his address during the event, Lamidi Apapa, the acting national chairman of the party, asserted that the party’s legal entities continue to recognize him as the legitimate leader within Nigeria. He expressed his readiness to defend his position in court against any opposition.

The party’s National Vice Chairman for the South-West, Hon. Abass Sina Aroyewun, also participated in the ceremony. He used his speech as an opportunity to call on Nigerians to consider giving the party a chance to lead the country. He stressed that collective efforts are underway to establish stability within Nigeria.
