Obasanjo &Atiku in 1999 took Bola Ige who was AD party member as Attorney General of federation-Wike

Nyesom Wike, Former Rivers state governor and minister for FCT, said that Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar in 1999 made late Bola Ige who was an Alliance for Democracy party member as Attorney General of the federation.

Nyesom Wike recalled this in an interview with Channels Television during the Politics Today program, when Seun Okinbaloye asked whether it was right for him to be a PDP member in an APC government.

Nyesom Wike responded that what he found out in Nigeria is that, governance is not about party. He said party is just a vehicle that confesses somebody.

“I’m a PDP member, un-repentable”

Seun Okinbaloye interrupted to ask, is he saying he is not going to leave the party?

Nyesom Wike reacted that what he does not like about Nigerians is that, he asked that what does being in PDP serving under APC has to do with governance.

“Remember, Obasanjo and Atiku in 1999 took late Bola Ige who was an AD member (not just to become minister of power) but Attorney General of the federation. It is the number one minister of the country. You remember that, because Obasanjo and Atiku believed that he can contribute in this area.”

He then said that he never hid is intention as PDP member that he was going to support equity, fairness and justice.
