I Am Not a Sitting Minister; I Will Be Part of the Projects—Nyesom Wike

Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, after taking his oath of office yesterday, indicated the things that he would do as the current minister of the Federal Capital Territory and that he would not sit in his office just because he is the minister but that he would move around to ensure that projects are being carried out as planned

He said that “I am not going to allow a project to be scattered here, and no project will be done for more than one year in my tenure”.

The politician reiterated that allowing a project to be done for more than a year is not his pattern: “I don’t do that he stated clearly”.

The former minister of state for education said, “We must find a way to achieve something; not one project here, another project there, and no one is completed.”

“It is better to do just one particular project and complete it than to do more than the ones that you will not be able to complete at the end of the tenure. That is the marching order that Mr. President has given us.

Wike continued, saying, “I am not a sitting office minister; I will be part of the projects that we are doing. I don’t want anybody to write reports that we are doing well or that we are not.” I’ll always be on the road, inspecting projects. Although files won’t last more than 24 hours on my table, I hate files,”, he said.

Wike also said, “I have a lot of energy, so don’t think that I am tired.”
