This statement was signed by Faithful Hope Ivbaze, the acting General Manager Corporate Affairs and was made available on Tuesday.

According to the statement the airport has become a hub for Nigeria’s North-Central region and beyond.

“The airport prides in the possession of world-class airport facilities including a brand new international terminal with a passenger handling capacity of 15 million per annum inaugurated by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd)-led administration in December, 2018, a recently rehabilitated domestic terminal, as well as a haji/cargo terminal,” she said.

Airport Council International awarded the airport Best Airport in Safety in 2018. The airport also received ACI’s Airport Service Quality Award in 2020, amongst several other recognition.

In recognition of these milestones, the 40th anniversary celebration will be held at the airport on September 29th 2022. Additionally, passengers, stakeholders, and former managers would receive awards for their contributions towards the development of the airport.

Hope-Ivbaze said, “The hallmark of the event will be inaugurating park of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airports Park & Pay Automated Car Parking Service by the Managing Director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Capt. Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu.”
