2023: More Intrigues As El-Rufai Carpets Tinubu

By G9ija

More facts are beginning to emerge that voting might not necessarily be along party lines in the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.

Several factors, including but not limited to the poor state of the economy, competence, health, and regional and ethnic considerations are poised to play major roles in the voting patterns in the next polls.

Those pushing for candidates among the leading political parties might continue to clamor for votes on the party-loyalty basis, albeit publicly, but some of them are beginning to double-speak.

One notable figure in this class is Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, who in a trending video was seen counseling the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he ought to be grateful for attaining such a ripe age and content with mentoring candidates, instead of contesting elections.

Literarily translated, Gov El-Rufai said, “You should be grateful you attained such an old age. Allow others. Your strength has diminished. That’s my understanding. Some don’t think so. You say Asiwaju doesn’t believe so.”

The APC stalwart, who appeared to be in conversation with another party loyalist, would have been making candid in-house observations in the 16” video.
