I’ve Used The Law To Advance Democracy In Nigeria – Keyamo

Festus Keyamo, the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, stated that he has utilized the power of the law to support democracy in Nigeria. During his ministerial screening on Monday, he addressed members of the Red Chamber, emphasizing his familiarity with Nigeria’s legal and political landscape.

Keyamo highlighted that he and other young lawyers played a role in advocating for the release of rights advocates during the struggle led by the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO). He expressed his strong belief in the law’s capacity to foster democracy by promoting transparency, fairness, and accountability, all essential principles for a thriving democratic system.

Keyamo also stressed the importance of staunch defenders of democratic values and the rule of law, saying that it was because of his legal commitments that he was chosen as a minister under the Buhari-led government.

The minister added that it was the impact made that gave him the opportunity to be selected by President Bola Tinubu to serve in his cabinet.
