37-year-old man defiles 4-year-old girl in Osun, threatens to kill her
A Chief Magistrates Court in Osogbo (Osun State) on Wednesday, September 28 remanded Abiodun Babatunde (37 years old) for defiling a 4-year-old girl.

Elisha Olusegun (prosecutor) stated that Babatunde had sexually assaulted her (name withheld) and then threatened to kill her if anyone knew about it.
Olusegun stated that the victim needed to be treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
The offenses committed were said to have contravened Sections 31(1)(2) and 32 of the Child’s Rights law of Osun State 2007, as well as, Sections 360 and 86 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
The plea of the defendant was not taken due to the nature of the matter, although his charges were read.
The presiding magistrate, A. Odeleye, ordered that the defendant be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Center and adjourned the matter to November 3, 2022.
