I Don't Have Any Platform To Speak, But I Thank God For Giving Me A Platform Today—Wike

During the flag-off of the construction of the 50.15km Portharcourt Dual Carriage Ring Road, the immediate past governor of Rivers State stated that he does not have any Platform to speak his mind, but he thanked God for giving him a platform to speak today. He stated that the NDDC has not been fulfilling its duties and responsibilities as an organisation.

He revealed that they agreed with the NDDC on N5 billion to complete the road close to their office in Rivers State, but they didn’t bring a penny. Wike stated that his government paid all the money needed to complete the project.

According to him, “Even the one they agreed with us that they’re going to do instant Bypass, where their office is, we agreed on N5 billion for Julius Berger to do, but up till now, they’ve not gotten their own kobo; we’ve paid the N5 billion. That is what we call a commission that was supposed to carry out development in the region they claim they should cover. We don’t have any Platform to speak, but I thank God for giving me this Platform today.”

“There’s only one governor in a state; there cannot be two governors in a state, so if you didn’t invite me here, I won’t talk anywhere; I’ll just go to my house and hide because I have done my own tenure and my own tenure has come to an end. But let me also advise you: drive this project yourself. Don’t sit in your office to say things are moving along. Make sure it’s a project in the morning, evening, or even on Sundays. God will not penalise you because you didn’t go to church on Sunday. God knows that you’re doing part of his work to make people happy.”
