'I Am Older Than Wike, He Used To Tell Me That I Was The Friend Of His Boss, Amaechi' -Dele Momodu

Dele Momodu, a prominent figure within the PDP, has expressed his dissatisfaction with being taunted by Nyesom Wike on national television. He alleged that Wike used to refer to him as the friend of his former boss, the ex-Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi. He further explained that his response to Wike is rooted in their personal feud.

In an interview in a video (9:48) with Channels TV, Momodu stated, “No one barks more than Wike, and my decision to respond was not on behalf of the PDP. I am not the spokesperson for the PDP; that role belongs to Debo Ologunagba. My actions are personal, pertaining to our personal dispute. He insulted me several times, so whenever he mentions me, whether directly or indirectly, I will respond.”

He continued, “In my culture, respect begets respect. I am older than him, and he used to acknowledge me as the friend of his boss, Governor Rotimi Amaechi. He would even observe us when he was Chief of Staff. So, imagine the Chief of Staff observing the relationship between the governor and his friend. When did it reach the point where he mentions me on television, saying ‘one Dele Momodu’? I won’t tolerate it.”
