The president of the country, Bola Tinubu, stated during the National Executive Council meeting of the All Progressives Congress on Thursday that the election that made him the president of the country is the most credible in Nigeria’s history.
Although President Tinubu acknowledged the fact that there is an ongoing legal battle in the Presidential Election Petition Court challenging his victory, he is still convinced that this election is the best ever.
The president said, “Yes, we are facing challenges in court, but I think this is the most credible election in Nigeria.” So, we must congratulate ourselves. “As a democrat, those who cannot accept the results of a free and fair election do not deserve the joy of victory.” (the president as quoted in the Daily Post).
The president used the opportunity to address party members on issues within and outside the country. He said that they, as a party, have the task of ensuring the development and improvement of the country.
He made reference to the list of potential ministers submitted to the House of Assembly and said that his government is wasting no time to keep the country running smoothly.
“We are taking it head-on; we must oil the wheel, grease it, and we are.” I have submitted ministerial lists to the Senate for screening and approval. “We are in the process of fully establishing the government of the people, for the people, and by the people,” the president said.
