Tribunal: My Decision To Go To Court Is Anchored In My Belief That The Court Is A Sanctuary Of Justice' -Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria during Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s leadership, has released a statement on his official platform, responding to the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and explaining his choice to seek legal recourse.

In his tweet as seen in some of the screenshots below, the politician stated, “My decision to go to court is rooted in my belief that the court is the sanctuary of justice. Throughout my political career, I have relied on the courage and fearless decisions of our judiciary, which has played a significant role in my political journey.”

He continued, “I am not new to legal battles, and I am well-acquainted with how the judicial system operates. Throughout my career as a politician, I have been a fighter, and I have found the judiciary to be a dependable pillar in the pursuit of justice.”

“As I stated when I instructed my lawyers to file a petition challenging the outcome of the presidential election, my ultimate objective in this pursuit is to strengthen democracy through the principles of fair hearing.”

Atiku encouraged all his supporters to remain resolute in their efforts to reclaim what he believes to be his rightful mandate, assuring them that he will take the case to the Supreme Court.
