2023 Election: Abdullahi Adamu Worked Against Tinubu's Candidature – Bernard Mikko

A former gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Bernard Mikko, has revealed how the immediate past Chairman of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, worked against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he clinched the presidential ticket; as he insisted that the former Chairman should have been compelled to resign before now.

Bernard Mikko had said, “He (Adamu) worked against the emergence of Senator Bola Tinubu when he emerged as the preferred candidate; he also worked against his candidature as the candidate of the party.”

Mikko, who spoke during an interview on Arise Television, revealed how Senator Adamu worked against President Tinubu during the February 25, 2023 Presidential election. He insisted that Adamu should have been compelled to resign his position before now. According to him, the APC bigwig never wanted Tinubu to be President, hence, he worked against him during the presidential primary election of the ruling party.

Mikko started by saying that it was clear that Adamu would not last as the Chairman of the party. He said Adamu had started his administration by being biased, hence, he had oppositions from party members. According to him, Adamu had backed a candidate to defeat Tinubu during the primary election.

Reports had earlier revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu asked Adamu and the National Secretary of the ruling party to resign their petitions. The reports had suggested that Tinubu asked the APC bigwigs to resign before today’s NWC meeting.
