The Abuja Municipal Area Council Chapter of the Labour Party (LP), on Saturday, held a town hall meeting to fine tune strategies towards achieving landslide electoral victory in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

He said, “This meeting has become very important for the very reason that we need to identify our roles as individuals or groups as we launch into the campaign proper so we do not cross the lines between our responsibilities and the so cause unnecessary distractions, confusion and enmity amongst ourselves as we all know that a house divided against itself cannot stand.

“The emergence of our presidential candidate, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi has brought a lot of goodwill and fortune to us as a party and by extension other candidates vying for several political offices at various levels.

“But that being said, there is still a lot of work to be done towards selling our candidates to those at the grass root levels; the local communities, market women and men, transport workers, artisans etc.

“This meeting will also grant us the opportunity once again after our past FCT town hall meeting to identify problems encountered in the field, identify solutions and set out action plan towards tackling these problems,” Comrade Uzochukwu said.

The AMAC Chairman expressed concern that people are yet to know the party’s candidates contesting different elective positions in FCT, insisting that as a party, they must do something about that if they are going to have a landslide victory of 5 over 5 (Peter Obi, Yusuf Datti, Ireti Kingibe, Joshua Obika and Joy Ohiomero) in the 2023 elections.

“At the AMAC level, we are interested in figures because anywhere in the world projections are made based on statistics.

“Same as this election, the figures will truly determine if we are taking steps in the right direction towards election victory” he said.

Uzochukwu tanked the support groups for all that they have been doing to keep alive the hope of Nigerians and residents of FCT.

He noted that they have in Peter Obi, “a candidate with competence, capacity, credibility/character and commitment salvage Nigeria from the rot it has found itself.

“We hope that this vibe and zeal will be extended to our candidates in FCT towards landslide victory, try,” he said.

Other party officials who spoke at the meeting were the Chairman of, the FCT Campaign Council Mr Olisa Uzoewulu, the State Chairman Peter Diugwu, Hajiya Ireti Kingibe, the Senatorial Candidate etc.
