PEPT: I was perplexed not to see any LP leader in the courtroom -Nyesom Wike

The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has expressed confusion about not spotting Labour Party leaders at the ruling in the electoral tribunal case. He firmly asserted that both the vice presidential candidate and the presidential candidate ought to have appeared in court. He added that the opposition should support President Bola Tinubu’s administration and accept defeat.

Wike questioned whether elections had ever been held in the country during an interview with Channels TV. more specifically the presidential election, for which citizens did not seek legal remedy. “When I watched television yesterday, I was shocked to not see the party leaders. How did it happen? He does, however, regularly appear in court. The lack of Labour Party representatives in the courtroom astounded me.

A court appearance is required for both the vice presidential and presidential candidates. Similar circumstances exist for the PDP. To fulfill the reignited optimism, they should all immediately collaborate with the President in a serious country.
